CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) – Tuesday, Republican candidate for New York’s 23rd district, Nick Langworthy made a campaign stop in Corning.

Langworthy was in Centerway Square talking about inflation and the high price of home heating.

He says the national grid is anticipating a 39 percent increase in the cost to heat a home. He also says we need to explore more opportunities for American energy and be less dependent on foreign oil.

“Our home heating is something that if we had natural gas here in the Southern Tier, we’d be able to lower prices for our fellow residents,” said Langworthy. “We’d be able to create great paying jobs here in the southern Tier for so many people that have had to go and look for opportunities elsewhere.”

Langworthy also said that the U-S needs to continue to expand battery technologies in order to harness renewables better.
