Domestic Violence Awareness In Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and a push is underway to raise awareness on the subject.

The Chautauqua County Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault is sponsoring its 25th Annual Walk Against Domestic Violence and 20th Annual Unity Day Celebration on Friday, October 7th.

The walk will begin at noon at the Northwest Bank Ice Arena and commence down 3rd Street to City Hall.











Those participating are asked to arrive by 11:45 a.m. and wear purple to signify Domestic Violence Awareness.

With two survivor guest speakers, the Unity Day Celebration will be held inside the lobby of City Hall immediately following the walk.

A light lunch will be served to those in attendance of the free event which is open to the public.
