JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – The new congressional representative in Western New York is slated to host a series of town hall meetings with constituents in the coming month.
Congressman Joe Sempolinski announced the news on Wednesday. The Republican won a special election to fill Tom Reed’s seat after Reed left office months ago for a job in the private sector.
However, Sempolinski will only be in this office until the new congress is elected and sworn in next year for the 23rd Congressional seat.
“I’ve said from the beginning I will hold at least one town hall in each county of the 23rd District. These town halls give me an opportunity to hear directly from our neighbors, which means I can take what I learn from them and bring it back to Washington with me,” said Sempolinski. “Listening to our residents is what makes for better representation. I look forward to seeing everyone at a town hall meeting soon.”
Locally, Sempolinski is scheduled to meet with residents at the Town of Carroll Town Hall on Saturday, November 5 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. That’s at 5 West Main Street in Frewsburg, NY.
Dates and venues for Cattaraugus County and Allegany County are expected to be announced soon.
