Jamestown Mom Charged After Disruptive Juvenile Causes Problems Around Town

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A Jamestown area mother is facing charges after her child was running lose around town, as part of an unsupervised spree full of mischievous deeds.

Officers with Jamestown Police responded to the area around Jamestown High School on Monday afternoon for a reported disruptive juvenile.











An investigation found that 43-year-old Meliza Velazquez Vega’s child was running around downtown Jamestown causing “issues” for businesses throughout the day.

Velazquez Vega was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, after police accused her of failing to “exercise reasonable diligence” in controlling her kin.

After booking she was released with an appearance ticket. The youngster, police said, was temporarily held in custody by the Jamestown Police Juvenile Bureau during their investigation.
