Jamestown Citizen Police Academy Slated For 2023

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – The Jamestown Police Department is accepting applications for their 2023 Citizen Police Academy slated to take place in late January.

The academy, which is scheduled to start Wednesday, January 25, will run for around 13 weeks from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. every Wednesday in the Police Training Room on the fourth floor of City Hall.


Those with the Police Department plan to cover a wide variety of topics including patrol and criminal investigations, firearms, crime scene investigating, domestic violence, narcotics, and other topics. There will also be special teams giving presentations throughout the course of the program, and ride along opportunities. 

The Citizen Academy is open to any adult that resides or works within the City of Jamestown.

Back in October Jamestown City Council Accepted a donation of $4,000 dollars to fund the training.
