JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – New guidance suggests schools in New York State consider re-masking students when in public indoor spaces as a precaution ahead of the holidays.

The public health measure was among a list of suggestions outlined in a letter from the New York State Education Department and Department of Health on Tuesday.

In addition to masking up, the Education Department and Department of Health recommend New Yorkers to stay up to date on vaccines, wash their hands often and stay home when sick to ensure everyone stays safe this winter.

The news comes as our nation is being hit by a rare “triple demic” with many states seeing an increase in COVID, Flu, and RSV cases.
