JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Investigators in Jamestown are looking for the driver involved in a hit and run accident after part of the note they left at the scene appears to be gone in the wind.

In a post on social media, the Jamestown Police Department shared an image of a note left at the scene of an accident last week, Friday, January 6.

An unidentified vehicle, officers say, backed into a parked car on North Main between Second and Third Street in Downtown Jamestown.

While they were nice enough to leave a note, only part of the paper was recovered with details of a phone number torn off.

Anyone who may identify the handwriting, or know the slip’s author, is asked to contact 716-338-0029.
