LAKEWOOD, NY (WNY News Now) – New details have been released about a serious motor vehicle crash in the Village of Lakewood.

On Tuesday evening, the Lakewood Fire Department and mutual aid were dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of Shadyside and Baker Street Extension in the Town of Busti.

Three people were injured in the wreck, with a Stat Medevac helicopter called directly to the scene.

Due to the severity of the collision, it took fire officials around 10 minutes to rescue one of the patients trapped inside a vehicle using the jaws of life.

One victim was flown to a regional trauma center in critical condition, with others taken to UPMC Chautauqua Hospital for minor injuries.
