Since the Warren County School District Board rolled out their master facilities plan, parents have voiced support and opposition to the plan.

One group of parents in Warren County, opposing the plan, have now created a group called “2 Schools 1 Fight.”

Nate Lindberg, a Sheffield Middle High School parent and former Warren County School District Board member, wants to make sure that the school does not close.

“Instead of reconfiguring our schools, reconfigure the Warren County School District in a way that is student focused,” Lindberg said.

He said one of the goals of the group is to empower parents by helping them learn more about their child’s education.

“Often times parents are not involved because it is such a hassle for them to do things inside of the construct of the Warren County School District,” he said.

He thinks the current setup of the board is unacceptable.

“A school board comprised of nine people in the County and an administration in Russell is making decisions about what happens in the lives of hundreds of kids in Sheffield and hundreds of kids in Youngsville,” he said.

According to the Warren County School District Board’s plan the next public engagement session is on April 18th.
