Jamestown Man Allegedly Tosses Molotov Cocktail To Light Person On Fire

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A man wanted for allegedly throwing a lit Molotov cocktail at a person in Jamestown has been arrested.

Robert Yates was taken into custody by Jamestown Police on Wednesday after fleeing officers during a warrant check on the city’s southside.


Yates was tracked down by K9 Officer Grimm to a back porch of a nearby residence.

The 33-year-old was wanted for two separate alleged crimes: a burglary and attempted assault.

In the burglary, Yates allegedly stole over $1,000 dollars in property from a business.



During the assault, he is accused of throwing a lit Molotov cocktail at a person in an attempt to set them on fire.

The suspect faces a slew of felony charges including burglary and attempted assault.
