JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A former attorney for the City of Jamestown is facing criminal charges connected to a police investigation earlier this year.

Benjamin Haskin, who was the city’s Associate Corporation Counsel, is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct in connection with an incident on Tuesday, March 28.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, who issued a police report nearly a month after investigating, provided few details about the alleged crime.

Deputies said Haskin “acted in a reckless manner which did create a substantial risk of injury to another person” during an afternoon incident on Baker Street in Jamestown.

He has since been issued a ticket to appear in the City of Jamestown Court.

Haskin left city government on April 14 for a position in the public defender’s office.

WNY News Now has reached out to the Chief Public Defender for comment and to confirm employment with Chautauqua County; but as of publication have not heard back.
