JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – An annual city-wide cleanup for the City of Jamestown is planned for late May.
Hands On Neighborhoods has been taking place in the pearl city for many years. Gathering undesirable trash and litter to dispose of.
Changing it up from previous years, organizers allow volunteers to work wherever they would like.
Turnout numbers initially dropped with the COVID-19 pandemic, but last year saw almost 80 people turn out to help clean up the community.
“If you would like to take some supplies and go back to your own neighborhood, you are also welcome to do that,“ explained Jamestown’s Director of Development Crystal Surdyk. “So, you can come down and we can assign you to a location, or you can let us know where you’d like to be and that is also very much welcome and appreciated.”
The cleanup event is planned for Saturday May 20, starting at 8 a.m.
