Jamestown Resident Is Accused Of Assaulting Elderly

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident is accused of assaulting an elderly person over the weekend.

On Saturday night Jamestown Police officers responded to a residence on the city’s east side for a disorderly person.


Following an investigation, it is alleged Carlos Ruiz threw a chair, a table and other items at a 67-year-old victim while a child was in close proximity.

While attempting to arrest the 26-year-old suspect, officers report Ruiz resisted. When a brief struggle ended, Ruiz was taken into custody.

Ruiz is being charged with second-degree assault, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
