JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – The manhunt continues for a Jamestown man wanted in connection with a domestic violence homicide.
A $2,500 dollar reward is offered for information leading to the arrest of Michael Burham, who police say is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Investigators discovered Burham’s truck unoccupied in Warren County, PA last Thursday just hours after police say he fled the Jamestown area.
Burham is wanted in connection with the death of 34-year-old Kala Hodgkin, who was found unresponsive at a southside Jamestown address by her children.
While police have not yet released a motive, Hodgkin’s neighbors believe her death was the result of continued domestic violence.
“I wish that we could quit having homicides within the city of somebody that had already actively reported crimes against them from that individual,” explained Merry Williams-Diers, neighbor and founder of WNY Missing and Unidentified. “Their home should probably be checked a lot more often than the average if you think somebody could be in danger.”
“I know she pressed charges against this individual a few weeks back, and he’s currently on the top ten most wanted list for first-degree rape, so it’s already a violent crime,” continued Williams-Diers.
In addition to the pervious rape charge Williams-Diers mentioned, Burham has been formally charged in connection with a vehicle fire that happened after Hodgkin was discovered deceased.
