OLEAN, NY (WNY News Now) – An Olean man is behind bars following a hit and run incident that killed a woman.
Deputies responded to the scene of a reported vehicle v.s. pedestrian crash on Seneca Avenue. in the Town of Olean.
After investigation, authorities discovered that a pickup truck, operated by 48-year-old Scott Carlson, had allegedly struck and killed a 42-year-old Olean woman and then fled the scene.
After a brief search, investigators found and arrested Carlson without incident.
He was transported to Cattaraugus County Jail and is currently being held without bail. Carlson is currently being charged with both murder and manslaughter. More charges may be added upon further investigation.
