Wanted Jamestown Man Spotted In South Carolina

JAMESTOWN, NY (WNY News Now) – Deputies in South Carolina are searching for Jamestown fugitive Michael Burham following a confrontation with officers Tuesday morning.

Officers with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s office responded to reports of a suspicious male in the area of Broomstraw Hill Road in Awendaw at around 11 a.m. Tuesday morning.


Deputies located the subject and attempted to make contact. The subject, later identified as Burham, gave a false name, then fled on foot. Officers tried to pursue the subject but lost sight. He did however drop a bag with contents revealing Burham’s identity.

He was last seen wearing a gray shirt with blue and white shorts. 

Burham is believed to be armed and very dangerous.



As of reporting, there is no update on the search, however he is being searched for intensively, by ground and air by multiple police agencies.
