Jamestown, NY (WNY News Now) – A 42-year-old male resident of Jamestown, Angel J. Vargas Mendoza, has been charged with Assault following an incident at the Jamestown Electro-Plating facility.

According to reports at approximately 1:25 PM, Jamestown police officers responded to a distress call at 105 Water St, where an assault was said to have occurred. The incident involved a terminated employee assaulting another employee within the facility.

During the altercation, the victim sustained facial injuries allegedly inflicted by Angel J. Vargas Mendoza before the assailant fled the scene. Shortly afterward, Vargas Mendoza voluntarily surrendered himself to the Jamestown Police Department in connection with the incident.

Following his surrender, Vargas Mendoza was taken into custody and subsequently charged with Assault 2nd. He is currently being held pending arraignment in the Jamestown City Court.
