ELLICOTT, NY (WNY News Now) – Two individuals were caught stealing several items from a Lakewood Wegmans last Thursday.

On July 27, 2023, Ellicott officers responded to a shoplifting complaint at Wegmans in the town of Ellicott of an alleged theft.

The officers were assisted by Wegmans asset protection, who helped identify the suspects and their vehicle. After a brief investigation, it was alleged that 37-year-old Christine M. Johnson and 37-year-old Michael D. Johnson had taken several items from the store without paying and managed to pass all points of purchase undetected.

As a result, both individuals were charged with petit larceny and issued appearance tickets to face the charges at a later date in the Town of Ellicott Court.
