Traffic Stop Leads To The Discovery Of Methamphetamine And Fentanyl


Jamestown, NY (WNY News Now) – Rachael R. Shavalier (39) was taken into custody by the Jamestown Police Department after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine and fentanyl in her possession. She now faces two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

On July 30, 2023, at approximately 11:04 AM officers from the Jamestown Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop on a white SUV near the intersection of N. Main St and Fluvanna Ave. During the stop, officers identified the driver as Rachael R. Shavalier, accompanied by a male passenger.

A further search the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a small quantity of methamphetamine and fentanyl in property that belonged to Ms. Shavalier. Ms. Shavalier was taken into custody without resistance and transported to the Jamestown City Jail.


Ms. Shavalier was charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th. The male passenger was released at the scene without charges. Rachael was subsequently booked on her charges but later released with an appearance ticket.

She is expected to appear in the Jamestown City Court at a later date to face the charges brought against her.
