Man Arrested for Weapon Possession After Confrontation at Cherry Lounge

Jamestown, NY (WNY News Now) – An altercation at the Cherry Lounge led to the arrest of James Caloren (41) of Jamestown. James Caloren faces multiple charges including Assault 2nd, Reckless Endangerment 1st, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.

In a late-night incident on August 4, 2023 law enforcement authorities from the Jamestown Police Department responded to a distress call involving a weapon at the Cherry Lounge. Upon arriving at the scene officers found several patrons restraining James Caloren (41) of Jamestown.

In the attempt to disarm Caloren and take him into custody, one officer sustained a minor injury from the knife. Following the successful disarming and arrest of Caloren, he was transported to the city jail without any further incidents. The authorities have charged him with multiple offenses including Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd and Resisting Arrest.


Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the altercation at the Cherry Lounge.
