Alzheimer’s Association Hosts Event to Enhance Communication Strategies

Machias, NY (WNY News Now) – Cattaraugus County residents have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into effective communication with individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias at a forthcoming event organized by the Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Western New York Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is organizing an event titled “Effective Communication Strategies,” scheduled for Tuesday, August 15, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. The event will take place at The Pines of Machias, located at 9822 Route 16.

The event aims to delve into the intricacies of communication within the context of Alzheimer’s disease. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn strategies to interpret both verbal and behavioral cues presented by individuals with dementia. The program intends to provide participants with valuable tools to facilitate meaningful interactions and establish connections at various stages of the disease’s progression.


Through this initiative, the Alzheimer’s Association aims to foster greater understanding, compassion, and meaningful connections within the community, supporting both caregivers and those navigating the challenges of dementia.
