(WNY News Now) – The New York State Police executed a successful crackdown on underage drinking in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties on August 23, 2023, resulting in charges against several individuals for prohibited alcohol sales.

As part of an operation aimed at curbing underage drinking, the New York State Police carried out an initiative in Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties on August 23, 2023. The operation involved deploying undercover operatives, supervised by State Police personnel, to attempt alcohol purchases from retail sellers. This proactive effort ensures compliance with NYS Penal Law and ABC Law regulations that prohibit selling alcoholic beverages to minors.

A total of nine establishments in the two counties were subjected to scrutiny. Following the operation, several individuals faced charges for Prohibited Sale of Alcohol to a Person Under 21. Among those charged were Andarrel M. Allen (41), Marlenys Y. Velazquez (21), Nicholas C. Crossley (26), and Lori A. Gianetti (60), all residents of Jamestown, NY.
