
(WNY News Now) – Dunkirk Fire Department contained a structure fire on Leopard St., rescuing an occupant and preventing substantial damage.
Dunkirk – Dunkirk Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire at 633 Leopard St. around 1:12 a.m. Upon arrival, smoke was seen emanating from a single-story residence.
Fortunately, the lone occupant had already escaped the house but suffered from smoke inhalation. Alstar EMS promptly treated and transported her to Brooks for further care.
Firefighters entered the building, extinguishing several minor fires. Damage to the structure was minimal. Crews managed the situation within an hour.
The fire’s cause was determined to be incendiary, prompting an investigation by Dunkirk Police.
