(WNY News Now) – A 41-year-old Jamestown resident, faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Weapon, after threatening a child with a broomstick outside the Jamestown Police Department on 9/2/23.

Jamestown – On September 2, 2023, at approximately 7:03 p.m. Jamestown Police Department officers encountered a disorderly person in front of their station. The individual, identified as Rudy J. Damonti III, allegedly menaced a juvenile victim by brandishing a broomstick in a threatening manner.

When law enforcement arrived, Damonti dropped the broomstick and attempted to engage in a physical altercation.

Subsequent investigation revealed that Damonti had a prior criminal conviction, leading to an additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd Degree. He now faces charges of Menacing in the 2nd Degree, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Harassment in the 2nd Degree.

Damonti remains in custody, pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
