Jamestown Resident Arrested on Burglary and Theft Charges


(WNY News Now) – A 39-year-old Jamestown resident has been apprehended and is facing charges of Burglary 2nd, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Mischief 4th following an alleged domestic incident on September 8th, 2023.

Jamestown – On the evening of September 8th, 2023, officers from the Jamestown Police 2nd Platoon responded to a call on the North side regarding a domestic disturbance. Dispatch had alerted them to the situation involving Michael L. Mcgaughy, 39, who was allegedly attempting to forcibly enter the victim’s residence. Upon arrival, officers interviewed both Michael and the victim, leading to the discovery that Mcgaughy had not only damaged the victim’s door but had also earlier entered her home without permission, stealing money from her purse and other belongings.

Michael L. Mcgaughy was taken into custody and transported to the city jail, where he now faces charges of Burglary 2nd, Petit Larceny, and Criminal Mischief 4th. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
