Albany – Governor Kathy Hochul conveyed her warmest wishes to the Jewish community in New York as they commence their celebration of Rosh Hashana, marking the beginning of the Jewish New Year, which holds deep significance in Jewish tradition. This sacred occasion, which ushers in the year 5784, will be marked by solemn prayer, profound reflection, and joyous reunions with family and friends in Jewish households throughout the state.
“Tonight, our Jewish friends and neighbors will begin their celebration of Rosh Hashana, the beginning of the Jewish New Year and one of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar. Jewish communities across New York will welcome 5784 with solemn prayer, deep reflection, and joyous gatherings with family and loved ones.
