
(WNY News Now) – A 38-year-old Jamestown resident, is facing a slew of charges, including Criminal Obstruction of Breathing, Assault 3rd, Menacing 2nd, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, following an incident on Newland Ave on September 19, 2023, at around 11:23 pm.
Jamestown – On the evening of September 19, 2023, at approximately 2023 hours, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 2nd platoon and Violent Crime Unit responded to a disturbance report involving a person with a weapon in the vicinity of Newland Ave and Charles St. Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered that Juan G. Rivera, 38, had allegedly threatened another individual and wielded a knife during a dispute. Reports indicate that Rivera had also physically assaulted and choked the victim before pursuing them with the knife.
Following the incident, law enforcement located Rivera at a nearby residence, subsequently taking him into custody. He is currently being held pending his arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
