
(WNY News Now) – A 36-year-old resident of Buffalo, faced arraignment before Buffalo City Court Judge Andrew C. LoTempio. He is charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree for the alleged shooting of a 28-year-old male on September 12, 2023.
Buffalo – Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that Michael A. Barnes was arraigned on charges stemming from an alleged incident that occurred on September 12, 2023. It is alleged that at approximately 1:51 a.m., Barnes intentionally shot the victim multiple times with an illegal firearm on the 3100 block of Main Street near Winspear Avenue in Buffalo. Tragically, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Barnes is scheduled to return on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. He is being held without bail, and if convicted of the highest count, faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
