(WNY News Now) – Attorney Trini E. Ross announced today that Mohammed Uddin, 36, of Buffalo, NY, who was convicted of attempted receipt of child pornography, was sentenced to serve 72 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr.
ROCHESTER – Assistant U.S. Attorney Kyle P. Rossi, who handled the case, stated that Uddin engaged in sexually explicit online and text communications with an undercover law enforcement officer, who he believed was a 13-year-old girl.
Over a period of approximately three weeks, Uddin discussed engaging in sexual relations with the child, sent pornography to the child, talked about taking the child’s virginity, attempted to induce the child to produce and send him sexually explicit photos and videos, and formed a plan to meet the child at her Rochester home for sex.
On August 18, 2022, Uddin traveled from Cheektowaga to an address in Rochester that he believed was the child’s residence and was immediately taken into custody, at which time investigators located Uddin’s cell phone and candy that he purchased as a gift for the child.
