
(WNY News Now) – The Ellicott Police Department responded to reports of a violation of a court-issued stay away order of protection, resulting in the arrest of a local man on charges of criminal contempt in the second degree.
The Ellicott Police Department was alerted to a potential breach of a court-ordered stay away order of protection. It is alleged that Walter M. Westerdahl, the subject of the order, was found in the presence of the protected party, violating the terms stipulated by the court.
Walter M. Westerdahl was apprehended by law enforcement officers and subsequently charged with criminal contempt in the second degree.
Following his arrest, he was transported to the Chautauqua County jail, where he awaits a Criminal Arraignment Procedure (CAP) hearing.
