(WNY News Now) – A 39-year-old man was arrested in Jamestown on October 18th, 2023, after leading officers on a vehicle pursuit. He now faces multiple charges, including unlawful fleeing from a police officer and drug possession.
Jamestown – On the evening of October 18th, 2023, at approximately 9:12 pm, members of the Jamestown Police Department Violent Crime Unit initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle in the vicinity of Delaware Ave and Cole Ave. The stop was prompted by an alleged observed traffic violation. Upon activation of the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights, the driver of the vehicle failed to comply with the stop order and instead led officers on a pursuit that traversed the City of Jamestown and extended into the Town of Ellicott.
The driver was later identified as 39-year-old Dustin C. Reagan, who was found to have outstanding felony warrants from the Town of Ellicott. The pursuit came to an end in the Town of Ellicott. Officers made verbal contact with Reagan, who initially refused to exit the vehicle. After a period of negotiation, Reagan agreed to surrender peacefully, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
A subsequent search of Reagan’s person, incident to his arrest, revealed a small quantity of methamphetamine. As a result, Dustin C. Reagan has been charged with Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, in addition to multiple traffic citations. He is currently being held pending arraignment in the Jamestown City Court.
