
(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown resident was apprehended by Jamestown Police on October 28, 2023, for riding a bicycle without required safety equipment and subsequently found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
Jamestown – Brandon M. Anderson, a 36-year-old resident of Jamestown was arrested by officers from the Jamestown Police Department at approximately 9:56 pm on the night of October 28, 2023.
The incident unfolded when officers spotted Anderson riding a bicycle on Barrett Ave. without a bell or a red light on the back, a violation of safety regulations. During their interaction with him, officers also discovered that Anderson had outstanding warrants from the Fredonia Police Department.
As a result of the warrants and the traffic violations, Anderson was taken into custody. A subsequent search incident to the arrest alleged that he was concealing a quantity of methamphetamine on his person, leading to the additional charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree.
Anderson was promptly transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment. In addition to the drug possession charge, he was issued uniform traffic tickets for the equipment violations on his bicycle.
