Jamestown Woman Sentenced to State Prison for Probation Violation

(WNY News Now) – A 32-year-old Jamestown woman received a 1 to 1.75-year indeterminate prison sentence today in Chautauqua County court after violating probation terms set following a 2023 conviction.

Mayville – District Attorney Jason Schmidt announced today that Toni Schnars of Jamestown has been sentenced to 1 to 1.75 years indeterminate in state prison by Judge David Foley for violating probation. Schnars, 32, had previously been convicted in June 2023 of Attempted Burglary in the 3rd degree, a class E, non-violent felony, resulting in a 5-year probation term.

Schnars’ return to court was prompted by her failure to comply with the conditions of her probation, leading to her re-arrest. The District Attorney expressed gratitude to the Chautauqua County Probation Department for their dedicated supervision of probationers.
