(WNY News Now) – The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce unveiled its lineup of board members and officers for the upcoming year, featuring Heather Brown of The Resource Center as the nominated Board Chair.
Chautauqua County – The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce has announced its board members and officers for the year 2024, showcasing a diverse and experienced team set to lead the organization. Heather Brown, representing The Resource Center, has been nominated as the Board Chair, with Emily Reynolds of Cornell Cooperative Extension Chautauqua County as Vice Chair, John Felton of Southern Chautauqua Federal Credit Union as Treasurer, and Courtney Curatolo of the Small Business Development Center as Secretary.
Fred Johnson of Johnson Estate Winery will take on the role of Immediate Past Chair, while also continuing to represent the Chamber’s Committee in Westfield-Barcelona. Joining the board is Robert Mazza of Mazza Chautauqua Cellars/5 & 20 Spirits and Brewing. Kris Sellstrom (Jamestown Board of Public Utilities), Ben Webb (Webb’s Captain’s Table), and Dr. Stephen Kolison (State University at Fredonia) will continue their service in existing terms.
Appointed representatives from each Community Committee include Ellen Luczkowiak for Dunkirk, Larry Fiorella for Fredonia, Aimee Rogers for Hanover, Vicki McGraw for Jamestown, and Brian Pender for Mayville-Chautauqua. An additional at-large board member will be named later.
The full slate of nominees is scheduled for a vote during the Chamber’s Annual Meeting on December 8 at Moon Brook Country Club, with lunch available at $30 for Chamber members and $32 for non-members. Registration is open through the web calendar at http://www.chautauquachamber.org, and proxy vote forms are accessible on the Chamber’s website for those unable to attend.
Notable keynote speaker for the Annual Meeting will be New York State Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli, an elected official holding a statewide office. The Chamber will also present the Pam Lydic Coalition Builder Award to Bishop Leecroft Clarke, recognizing his efforts as the part-time project director for the I.D.E.A. Coalition, focusing on inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility in Chautauqua County.
As Small Business Saturday approaches on November 25, the Chamber emphasizes the importance of year-round support for local businesses. With a mission to build vital connections, provide professional resources, and champion local businesses in Chautauqua County, the Chamber is actively encouraging residents to support locally owned merchants.
On Small Business Saturday, the Chamber is running a contest to incentivize local consumers. Participants can check in on Facebook or Instagram, tagging the Chamber of Commerce (@ChautauquaChamber on Facebook and @shoplocalchq on Instagram) for a chance to win a $150 ShopLocalCHQ Gift Card. The drawing will take place on Monday, November 27. The contest aims not only to give away gift cards but also to promote local businesses throughout the day, drawing more potential customers through their doors.
