(WNY News Now) – A 46-year-old resident, is in custody after a stabbing incident unfolded on the North side. The victim, who sustained multiple stab wounds, received prompt medical attention, while the alleged perpetrator faces serious charges including Assault 1st and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd.
Jamestown, NY – On November 24, 2023, at around 2:47 pm, officers from the 1st and 2nd platoon swiftly responded to a reported stabbing incident at a North side address in Jamestown. Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with several stab wounds in front of the residence. Quick-thinking officers administered first aid to the injured party.
As additional officers arrived at the scene, it was determined that the alleged suspect, identified as Carlos R. Castro, aged 46 and a Jamestown resident, was still present. The authorities apprehended Castro without further incident.
The victim, who sustained serious injuries, was promptly attended to by the Jamestown Fire Department and Chautauqua County EMS. Following initial treatment, the victim was airlifted to another hospital for further medical care.
Carlos R. Castro was subsequently transported to the city jail and is currently held pending arraignment. He faces charges that include Assault 1st (B-Felony), Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (D-Felony) on two counts, and Menacing 2nd on two counts. The Jamestown Police received assistance in managing the situation from the Jamestown Fire Department, Chautauqua County EMS, and the New York State Police.
