High-Speed Chase Ends in Arrest for Reckless Endangerment

(WNY News Now) – A high-speed chase culminated in an accident, leading to the arrest of a 36-year-old man on charges of reckless endangerment and unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle.

Ellicott, NY – Ellicott Police were notified of the stolen vehicle and its attempted stop by Jamestown Police. Despite attempts by Ellicott Officers to apprehend the suspect, the vehicle eluded them just as it entered the Town of Poland. Subsequently, an accident was reported involving the same vehicle over a bank into a tree.

Responding to the accident scene, Ellicott Officers confirmed it was the fleeing vehicle. The driver, identified as Chad E Walters, had fled the scene but was later located in a nearby garage with the assistance of JPD K-9 units. Walters was subsequently taken into custody and handed over to Jamestown Police.

Chad E Walters faces multiple charges, including speeding in a zone, passing a solid red light, passing on the right, illegal driving in the center lane, reckless endangerment 2nd degree, and unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle 3rd degree.
