    (WNY News Now) – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance on Ellicott Rd. in the Town of Portland on December 20th at 11:15 PM, resulting in the arrest of a Portland man for Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree.

    Town of Portland – Late on December 20th, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Ellicott Rd. in the Town of Portland to address a disorderly subject. Upon investigation, it was discovered that Thomas A. Schmid Jr., 33, had violated an active stay-away order of protection. Charged with Criminal Contempt in the 2nd Degree, Schmid Jr. was promptly taken into custody and transported to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office for processing.

    Subsequently, he was moved to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
