(WNY News Now) – The National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo, NY, has issued a High Wind Warning effective from 7 AM Tuesday to 4 AM Wednesday, predicting south winds of 30-40 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. 

Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Southern Erie counties are expected to be affected, posing risks of downed trees, power lines, and widespread outages. Travel, especially for high-profile vehicles, will be challenging. The warning advises residents to avoid forested areas, secure lower levels of homes, and stay away from windows. The NWS urges caution for driving. The alert aims to minimize potential damages and enhance public safety during the impending windstorm.
