(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – The National Weather Service (NWS) Buffalo NY has issued a Lakeshore Flood Watch for Erie and Chautauqua counties along the Lake Erie shore, effective from Saturday morning until late Saturday night.

A Lakeshore Flood Watch has been issued, with significant lakeshore flooding possible along the Lake Erie shore of Erie and Chautauqua counties. The watch, in effect from Saturday morning through late Saturday night, warns of a rapid rise in water levels at the eastern end of Lake Erie, posing the risk of flooding along Route 5 in Hamburg, Buffalo Harbor, Canalside, Dunkirk Harbor, and other flood-prone areas. Additionally, very high wave action may lead to significant shoreline erosion.
