(WNY News Now) – A 24-year-old Jamestown resident was arrested on Feb. 17, 2024, at 3:04 p.m. for petit larceny following a reported shoplifting incident at the Family Dollar Store on 41 S Main St.

Jamestown City Court will hear the case of Malik D. Lathan, who was apprehended on Feb. 17, 2024, after officers responded to a shoplifting report at the Family Dollar Store. Dispatch guided officers to an address on N Main St, where Lathan was located, matching the suspect’s description.

A show-up identification with a witness confirmed Lathan’s involvement, leading to his arrest. He is currently held pending arraignment at the City Jail. Lathan faces charges of petit larceny and is expected to appear in Jamestown City Court. He was released with an appearance ticket following the arrest.
