(WNY News Now) – WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Nick Langworthy (NY-23) released a video slamming the policies of President Biden and New York Democrats that led to Jose Ibarra walking free and murdering 22-year-old Laken Riley in Georgia.
“Last Thursday, a 22-year-old woman, Laken Riley in Georgia, was brutally murdered and taken from her family by an illegal immigrant who should’ve been locked up.
Jose Ibarra entered the United States illegally last year when the Biden Administration gave him a one-way ticket to New York City.
Now, what’s absolutely disgusting is that he was arrested in New York City for child endangerment. But then, because of our bail reform laws, he was released back out on the streets.
New York City Democrats know damn well this is the result of their senseless policies. New York’s bail reform has shattered lives not just here in our state, but now in Georgia.
President Biden and Alejandro Mayorkas are also responsible for this and have allowed this absolute lawlessness to occur at our border and across our country.
How many American lives will it take for us to close the border? How many violent crimes will it take for Democrat cities to end their sanctuary city policies?
Her blood is on their hands. Laken Riley would still be here if our border was secure. Laken Riley would still be here if this criminal was locked up the first time he committed a crime.
It’s sickening, and it has to end now. President Biden has the power to secure the border by executive action, and Governor Hochul and Mayor Adams can end New York’s sanctuary policies with the stroke of a pen.
As a dad, I’m absolutely heartbroken and outraged for Laken’s family. We have a responsibility to ensure that no other families have to go through this.
She is the daughter of the Riley family, but she is all our daughters because she is an American citizen. She deserved so much better from her government. We cannot let another moment pass before we close this border. Mr. President, it is time for you to act. It’s time for you to act now!”
