(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 33-year-old resident, is held pending arraignment on charges including Criminal Possession of Controlled Substances following a traffic stop on Kidder St. near Broadhead Ave.

On the night of March 9, 2024, at approximately 11:16 pm, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s K-9 Unit and the Violence Interdiction Unit initiated a routine traffic stop on Kidder St. near Broadhead Ave. During the stop, officers discovered that Christopher M. Belin was allegedly in possession of a significant quantity of Alprazolam, a controlled substance, along with a digital scale.

Belin was promptly taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Upon a subsequent search at the jail, it was revealed that Belin had concealed a quantity of fentanyl in his buttocks, attempting to consume the narcotics to avoid potential legal consequences.


As a result, Belin now faces multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Criminal Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree.

The Jamestown City Court currently holds Belin pending arraignment.
