(WNY News Now) – A 34-year-old male inmate at Mayville County Jail created a disturbance on March 21, 2024, resulting in damage to jail property.

During a routine evening at Mayville County Jail, Jeffrey L. Buchanan, a resident of Erie, PA, took actions that led to his facing further legal consequences. At around 4:11 PM on March 21, Buchanan threw his jail-issued electronic tablet against the cell walls and bars multiple times in a fit of anger, rendering the device inoperable. This behavior resulted in Buchanan being charged with criminal mischief 4th degree.
