(WNY News Now) – Mayville, NY – An incarcerated man at Chautauqua County Jail, faces charges of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree after allegedly damaging a County-owned tablet.
On April 8, 2024, staff at Chautauqua County Jail reported witnessing Javier Baez, 47, allegedly causing damage to a County-owned tablet. Baez has been charged with Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree, classified as a felony. The incident occurred within the confines of the jail premises. Following his arrest, Baez underwent arraignment through Centralized Arraignment procedures and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Chautauqua Court for further proceedings. The specific circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
