(WNY News Now) – Mayville, NY – A 25-year-old resident of Jamestown, received a 3.5-year determinate state prison sentence with 5 years of post-release supervision for Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree, alongside an additional indeterminate sentence of 1 to 3 years for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree.

In a ruling handed down by Judge David Foley in Chautauqua County court, Cody Boisvert was sentenced for two felony charges stemming from incidents in July and August of 2023. The Jamestown Police Department, along with the New York State Police, conducted investigations leading to Boisvert’s arrest. In July, Jamestown officers discovered Boisvert in unlawful possession of a loaded handgun, resulting in a guilty plea in December. Subsequently, in August, state police identified Boisvert in connection with stolen firearms, leading to another guilty plea.

The sentencing, conducted by Assistant District Attorney Erik Bentley, saw both charges running concurrently. District Attorney Schmidt expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their dedication in resolving the case.
