(WNY News Now) – Hanover, NY – Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a vehicle complaint on Rt. 5&20 in Hanover, NY, resulting in the arrest of a 63-year-old Hamburg, NY, man for driving while intoxicated.

On April 11, 2024, at approximately 6:07 PM, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to reports of erratic driving on Rt 5&20 in Hanover. Upon arrival, they identified Charles M. Eich as the driver. Following an investigation, Eich was allegedly found to be intoxicated while operating the vehicle. Eich was subsequently charged with DWI, aggravated DWI with a BAC of .18% or higher, and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree. He was released with appearance tickets for the Hanover Town Court.
