(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – Members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, aided by the SWAT team, executed a search warrant at 76 Victoria Avenue on April 9th, resulting in the arrest of two local men on weapon-related charges.
On April 9th, 2024, at approximately 12:10 pm, law enforcement officials, including members of the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force and the Jamestown Police Department SWAT Team, carried out a targeted operation at 76 Victoria Avenue, Jamestown, New York. The operation aimed to execute a search warrant and apprehend suspects allegedly involved in criminal activities.
During the operation, Michael E. Hitchcock, 44, and Robert A. Hallett, 38, both residents of the area, were found inside the residence by the SWAT team. Following the securing of the premises, detectives conducted a thorough search and allegedly uncovered a cache of weapons, including a .30 Caliber rifle, a switchblade knife, metal knuckles, a high-capacity magazine, and a quantity of ammunition.
Subsequently, Hitchcock and Hallett were placed under arrest and transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Hitchcock faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, along with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree. Hallett, wanted in the Town of Dunkirk, was handed over to the respective authorities.
Notably, Hitchcock had previously been the target of a search warrant resulting in the seizure of multiple firearms, handguns, and narcotics. Assistance during the operation was provided by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Chautauqua County Emergency Services Tac Meds, and the Jamestown Fire Department.
