(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – Jamestown’s Department of Development announces the commencement of the sale of 19A Properties, marking a significant step towards revitalizing neighborhoods and fostering homeownership.

The City of Jamestown is excited to announce the listing of its first round of 19A Properties for sale, these listed properties include 523 Winsor St, 20 Johnson St, 18 Catlin Ave, 17 Dearing Ave, 94 Howard St, 177 Barker St, 49 Utica St, 58 Cowden Pl, 71 Barker St, and 73 Beech St.

Interested buyers must adhere to specific guidelines to submit sealed bids. Prospective purchasers are required to contact Project Manager Jay Shultz for an in-person property walkthrough and must arrange their contractors for cost estimates. While a list of contractors is available upon request, the quality of their work is not guaranteed.

Sealed bids, accompanied by a completed application including proof of financing and a development plan, will be reviewed monthly by JURA staff. Winning bids will undergo approval by the JURA Board, aiming to select proposals that contribute to neighborhood stabilization and reduce blight and crime. Successful bidders are mandated to reside in the rehabilitated property for five years and maintain compliance with relevant codes.

The initiative aims to bolster homeownership in Jamestown, fostering community stability and growth.
