Warren County Set for Major Road Resurfacing
A resurfacing project aimed at improving three key roads in Warren, Warren County, will commence next month.
The project targets Madison Avenue (between Malvina Street and Park Avenue), Crescent Park Road (from the city limits to Hickory Street), and Lexington Avenue (between South Irvine Street and Parker Street). Funded by the Local Federal Aid Route Program (LFAR) through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), this initiative includes milling, paving, curb ramp reconstruction to meet ADA standards, and upgrades to drainage and pedestrian crossings.
Construction will start on June 10, 2024, and is projected to finish by October 2024, weather permitting. IA Construction Corporation of Franklin, PA, has been contracted for the project at a cost of $762,778, fully covered by federal funds. The scope of work on Lexington Avenue has been extended by 400 feet due to available LFAR funds.
Motorists should expect lane restrictions and traffic control by flaggers, with possible delays during work hours. PennDOT urges drivers to stay alert and drive responsibly in work zones for everyone’s safety.
