Jamestown police responded to a domestic dispute, leading to the arrest of a local man on charges of assault and unlawful imprisonment.
On the night of May 27, 2024, at approximately 10:23 PM, officers from the Jamestown Police second platoon were dispatched to the east part of the city in response to a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers identified 44-year-old Jamestown resident Daniel J. Genovese as the primary suspect.
During their investigation, officers determined that Genovese had thrown a phone at the victim, causing a small laceration on her face. When the victim attempted to leave the residence, Genovese allegedly grabbed her and prevented her from exiting.
Genovese was taken into custody and charged with third-degree assault and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. Following his arrest, he was transported to Jamestown City Jail, where he is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court.
